They were well prepared, well spoken, and over the course of the competition, really impressed the judges with their knowledge of the U.S. Constitution and American Government.
Congratulations to all of the amazing students in Melanie Fisher’s 5th grade class for participating in the “We the People” at Bluffdale City Hall. “We the People” is a competition where they hold simulated congressional hearings for students, which test their knowledge of the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the different branches of government.
The students presented prepared statements on constitutional topics and responded to questions from judges, including Bluffdale Mayor Natalie Hall.
We are very proud of Ms. Fisher and her students for their in-depth study and knowledge of citizenship, government, and the political process; including the principles of democracy, the rights and responsibilities of citizens, and the structure and function of different levels of government.
Keep up the great work being engaged and informed citizens!
